What happens when our engineer visits?

Information about our engineer visitsOur engineers attend appointments in company uniform and in a company liveried van.

We usually give appointment times such as between 9am-10am. The engineers endeavour to arrive on time but if there is any delay, we will contact the customer.

The engineers carry iPads to assist with administration. Firstly, all appointments are time-logged. The customer will be required to provide a digital signature (on the engineer's iPad) when work commences and upon completion.

We would politely request that customers visit our website before appointments to view our our prices and Terms and Conditions (links are provided in emails/texts and printable PDFs can also be downloaded). This is important because when we ask customers to sign at the start of work, we are also asking them to confirm acceptance of our T&Cs.

We keep job notes for each customer and these notes help maintain continuity (if a different engineer visits the property, for example). The notes might include information provided by the customer (such as parking suggestions) or technical details about the heating system.

The engineer will keep the customer fully informed of issues arising; sometimes these issues may affect the time and/or materials allocated to the job. The engineer may also take photos and make notes. Some advisory comments might be included on the customer’s invoice for information.

Payment by cash, cheque or debit card is due on presentation of our invoice, either by the engineer after sign-off or via email from the office. The engineer is equipped to take debit card payments (NB we do not accept credit cards).
